Product Description

The combination of these products may:

1. Reduce inflammation
2. Change bile to a more water-soluble, less toxic form

Inflammation may contribute (along with other factors) to an imbalance in the bile salts of more toxic bile. This caustic bile, in turn, causes inflammation within the bile ducts, the duodenum, the gallbladder walls and the sphincter of Oddi and pyloric or stomach sphincter. This contributes to the ineffectiveness of the sphincters in holding the bile back from refluxing up into the pancreas, the stomach and the esophagus. Inflammation may also contribute to thickening of the gallbladder wall. The inflammation found in these areas is reported to be of the COX-2 variety.

  • ContraFlam is a combination of natural COX-2 inhibitors as well as herbs traditionally used to support the liver and gallbladder.
  • BileCalm and Bile Salts Booster have been created to favor the formation of water-soluble, less toxic bile.

This kit contains:

1 ContraFlam 2 oz liquid
1 BileCalm 2 oz liquid
1 Bile Salts Booster -180 capsule

Dosages:
Take 1 dropperful of all both liquid formulas 3x a day.
Take 1-3 capsules of Bile Salts Booster with each meal, randomly alternating the number of capsules as stated on the bottle.

Reflux of duodenal contents including bile acids is believed to contribute to esophageal injury and Barrett's esophagus. Cyclooxygenase (COX)-2, an inducible form of COX, has been implicated in both inflammation and carcinogenesis. In this study, we investigated the effects of bile acids and duodenal reflux on COX-2 expression in cultured esophageal cells and tissue, respectively...Unconjugated bile acids were about fivefold more potent inducers of COX-2 messenger RNA, COX-2 protein, and prostaglandin synthesis than conjugated bile acids. Acidifying the culture medium sensitized esophageal cells to bile acid–mediated induction of COX-2.
