- Support the immune system
- Be low in autoimmune diseases such as Hashimoto's and MS
- Reduce inflammation and pain

Vitamin D2 is the form generally found in fortified foods and in prescriptions. It is not readily available to the body. Vitamin D3 is.

And for anyone with a bile deficiency, such as those without a gallbladder and those experiencing gallbladder symptoms, choosing an already emulsified Vitamin D3 just makes sense.
I recommend testing for levels of vitamin D with a 25(OH) D blood test. 40ng/mL to 80 ng/mL is considered normal by the Vitamin D Council. 30-100 is the normal range recommended by the Endocrine Society. Below 30 is considered a vitamin D deficiency by the Vitamin D Council. Your lab or your doctor may follow different guidelines. If your levels are low, you may supplement with 5,000 IU daily until normal. Monitor your levels and supplement accordingly.
